1. Data Collection
Information received through Ulvian may fall into a few practical categories depending on how the app is used. Account-related details can include an email address, profile preferences, saved collections, favorites, and support messages sent to our team.
Device and technical records may also be gathered, such as app version, operating system, device model, language settings, crash reports, approximate diagnostics, and interaction logs. These records help identify bugs, improve performance, and understand how features are used.
Because Ulvian includes AI virtual try-on and face-shape-based recommendations, the app may request access to camera images or photos that a user chooses to upload. Those images may be processed to generate previews, fit analysis, or styling suggestions. If location, photo library, or similar sensitive permissions are requested, they are used only for the related app function and can generally be managed through iOS settings.
The app may also incorporate third-party software development kits or embedded tools for analytics, hosting, security review, customer support handling, content delivery, or purchase-related operations. Such tools may receive limited technical or usage information necessary to perform their role.
Face Data and Virtual Try-On
Ulvian's FitLab virtual try-on feature may use face-related information only when a user intentionally captures a portrait with the camera or selects a portrait from the photo library.
For this feature, Ulvian may process: (i) the portrait image chosen by the user; (ii) face landmark information derived from that image on the user's device, such as eye-position points and facial alignment references; and (iii) a generated virtual try-on result image if the user chooses to create one.
Ulvian uses this information only to align virtual eyewear, generate a local virtual try-on preview, and present face-shape-informed fit guidance inside the app. Ulvian does not use this face-related information to identify a specific person, build a face-recognition profile, or perform advertising profiling.
Face landmark analysis for FitLab is performed on device. Ulvian does not send portrait photos, face landmark data, or generated FitLab try-on images to third-party AI providers or remote face-processing services as part of the FitLab virtual try-on flow in the current version of the app.
If a user does not save a FitLab result, the selected portrait and derived face landmark information are used only for the active session and are not retained by Ulvian as saved FitLab content. If a user chooses to save a FitLab result, the original portrait copy and generated try-on image are stored locally in the app's sandbox on the user's device so the user can revisit saved results later.
Saved FitLab images are retained until the user deletes their account through the app or removes the app from the device, at which point the associated locally stored FitLab records are deleted as part of local account cleanup. Face landmark information itself is not retained as a separate long-term record after processing is complete.
2. Data Usage
The information gathered through Ulvian is used to operate the application, maintain account features, power AI try-on experiences, generate frame suggestions, store personal collections, respond to support requests, and refine browsing quality.
Certain usage patterns may be reviewed in aggregate to improve recommendations, interface decisions, editorial presentation, and system stability. Data may also be used to detect abuse, prevent fraud, enforce platform rules, and troubleshoot technical issues.
If promotional messages, product updates, or feature announcements are sent, they will generally rely on contact information voluntarily provided by the user, where permitted by law. Users may opt out of non-essential marketing communications at any time.
Information is not sold in the ordinary sense of exchanging user data for direct payment. Limited sharing may occur with service providers or operational partners where needed to run the app, process legitimate requests, secure infrastructure, or comply with legal obligations. However, portrait photos, face landmark data, and FitLab try-on images used for the virtual try-on feature are not shared with third-party AI providers or remote face-processing services in the current version of Ulvian.
3. Data Storage & Security
Ulvian-related information may be stored on secure cloud infrastructure, managed servers, or systems operated by trusted processing partners that support app delivery. Storage locations may vary by provider and may involve data processing in jurisdictions outside a user's home region.
Protective measures can include encrypted transmission, access controls, internal authorization limits, monitoring tools, and routine security practices intended to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or loss.
No system can promise absolute security. Even so, reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards are applied in light of the kind of information involved.
For FitLab virtual try-on, unsaved portraits and face landmark analysis are used only during the active session. When a user saves a FitLab result, the saved portrait copy and generated try-on image are stored locally on the user's device inside the app sandbox, together with a local index used to reopen the saved result. Those saved FitLab records remain on device until local account deletion or app removal.
4. Third-Party Services
Parts of Ulvian may rely on outside providers for functions such as analytics, hosting, customer support workflows, payment-related processing, AI infrastructure, notification delivery, fraud prevention, or performance monitoring.
Those providers may handle limited information strictly in connection with the services they perform for the app. Their own privacy terms and security practices may apply when they process information on our behalf or as independent service operators. For clarity, Ulvian's FitLab virtual try-on feature does not disclose portrait photos, face landmark data, or generated try-on images to third-party AI providers or remote face-processing services in the current version of the app.
Links, embedded content, or references to external destinations may also appear within the app or related services. Once a user leaves Ulvian-controlled environments, handling of information is governed by the privacy practices of the relevant third party rather than this page.
5. User Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where a user lives, privacy laws may provide specific rights regarding personal information. These rights can include:
- requesting access to the personal information associated with the app account or usage;
- asking for corrections if details are inaccurate or incomplete;
- requesting deletion of eligible information, subject to legal or operational exceptions;
- objecting to or limiting certain processing in circumstances recognized by law;
- withdrawing consent where processing depends on consent;
- requesting information about categories of data disclosed for business purposes; and
- opting out of certain non-essential communications or data uses where applicable.
To exercise these rights, users may contact support@ulvian.com. Verification may be required before a request is completed, particularly when the request involves access, correction, or deletion of account-linked materials. Authorized agents may also submit requests where local law allows.
Users will not be treated unfairly for making a legitimate privacy request, although some app functions may become limited if essential data is removed.
6. Children's Privacy
Ulvian is intended for adults and older users only, and it is not designed for children under 18. The app does not knowingly seek or solicit personal information from minors.
If it becomes apparent that information from a person under 18 has been submitted without appropriate authorization, reasonable steps will be taken to delete that material as soon as practicable. This approach is intended to align with applicable child privacy requirements, including COPPA where relevant.
7. Policy Updates
This policy may be revised from time to time to reflect product changes, legal developments, security practices, or operational adjustments. The most current version will be posted with a revised effective date.
When updates are significant, notice may be provided through the app, on the website, or by other reasonable means. Continued use of Ulvian after changes take effect means the updated policy governs from that point forward, to the extent permitted by law.
